Why we started this.
ChatGPT launched an app store (kinda), and we got so excited that we decided to start a newsletter entirely focused on it.
Who are we?
Harry, Kyle, and I are the cofounders of Gadget.dev, a platform is designed for helping app developers build and run small apps for B2B App stores (Shopify, Bigcommerce, Hubspot). So when OpenAI announced their APP SDK was going to make it possible to start building full-stack app experiences and embedding them in ChatGPT, we immediately knew that we would be working on getting Gadget to support the APIs (coming soon). As we’re knee-deep into building with OpenAI’s APIs for our own selfish purposes, we figured we could also share our learnings and insights, along with other useful content we discover from industry experts. So we started a Substack.
Don’t worry, the content will be about ChatGPT apps, and not us shilling our business. :)
What kind of content will we share?
We will have a 50/50 blend of technical and non-technical content:
On the technical end, you can expect posts that share insights, and solutions to specific challenges and hurdles (e.g. “Why OpenAI’s UI APIs make developing in Vite a nightmare + how to solve it”, or “Clever design patterns for ChatGPT apps that want to stand out”, or “ChatGPT app store SEO optimization”).
On the other end, we’ll have content that focuses on the opportunities available to app developers, and share success stories and sample apps we find compelling.
Who is this for
App developers, PMs, designers, and entrepreneurs who are curious about ChatGPT apps, or are already building them.
